When the English Football League (EFL) prepared to move into their new office at 50 Paddington, they faced a common challenge in commercial relocations: getting reliable business connectivity live, fast.
With a tight programme and the practical completion (PC) date looming, there was no room for delay. Crucially, the client wanted to avoid the lengthy process of securing a wayleave, which can often stall fibre installation by weeks or even months. Without early connectivity, the risk of delaying key phases of the project and potentially incurring additional costs was significant.
We were brought on board to manage and deliver a seamless office connectivity solution. We worked in close coordination with the client’s on-site fit-out team to align schedules, arrange permits, and ensure all works progressed without interrupting other trades. Our team installed a 10-metre, 8-core armoured longline, running from the riser’s existing termination point to the comms room via a low-level containment route.
We also managed the cross-connection of two incoming Openreach circuits, actively supporting their engineers throughout site surveys and any troubleshooting, which helped keep the project on track. The result was a swift, secure, and disruption-free fibre installation, completed on time and ready for use from day one.
