In the heart of Whitechapel, The Rowe stands as a striking example of architectural transformation, a seamless fusion of contemporary design with the heritage character of the former London Metropolitan University building. As part of its complete redevelopment into premium office space, the building required a high-performance connectivity infrastructure to match its modern facilities and ambitious tenant expectations.
The scope was significant: new meet-me chambers for carrier access, multiple carrier installations, a fully diverse fibre backbone, a landlord Core Network System (CNS), and guest Wi-Fi coverage throughout. The solution also needed to integrate critical building systems into one secure and centrally managed network, ensuring both resilience and flexibility for the future.
Zetta Connect was appointed to design and deliver a bespoke infrastructure capable of supporting the building’s long-term digital requirements.
We engineered a tailored duct system and strategically positioned meet-me chambers to optimise carrier access. Working closely with service providers, we ensured swift and coordinated carrier installations to the site. From there, we deployed a fully diverse fibre backbone, running from two central communications rooms and terminating on all 12 floors, delivering reliable, high-speed connectivity to every part of the building.
To enhance user experience, we installed guest Wi-Fi across all high-traffic communal areas, from the reception and lift lobbies on every floor, to the bike store and the rooftop terrace, providing seamless coverage for both visitors and staff.
All landlord services, including access control, CCTV, phone systems, and guest Wi-Fi, were integrated into the landlord network. This created a single, streamlined, and secure environment that is both easy to manage and resilient to disruption.
The Rowe now benefits from a fully managed, end-to-end connectivity solution maintained by Zetta Connect. Tenants enjoy access to multiple carrier options via fully diverse cabling routes, while the landlord benefits from a unified, integrated system that supports operational efficiency and security.
